Case Study: Brand-Led Design Evolution for One of Edinburgh’s Top Chinese Restaurants
Over an extended period, we’ve had the pleasure of working with one of Edinburgh’s top Chinese restaurants, providing a full suite of graphic design services that have grown and evolved alongside the business.
What began as a refresh of their a la carté menu soon expanded into a complete redesign of their printed materials — including their à la carte menu, kids’ menu, dessert menu, drinks & wine list, and a dedicated Chinese language menu. Each piece was carefully considered not just in isolation, but as part of a larger brand ecosystem.
As the restaurant’s identity developed, so too did the design direction. We worked closely with the team to refine the style over time, ensuring consistency across all customer touchpoints — both online and in print. A key focus was aligning the visual feel of the menus with the restaurant’s evolving interior design, resulting in a seamless and immersive dining experience that reflects the quality and character of the brand.
This long-term collaboration showcases my ability to create cohesive, evolving design systems that respect brand heritage while keeping things fresh and visually engaging.
